Mothers Day is this week-end and we searched for a variety of exciting & fun things to do this year and I must say we definitely found just that. Texas is always on top of the game for plenty to do here.  Family  fun & definitely scrapbook material of memories of good times. We found butterflies, Outlaws, a King, artists,  English gardens, festivals, music and plenty of food.
Here are a few fun Mother’s day weekend activities going on in DFW:
A Mothers Day Brunch at Scarborough Renaissance Festival on 05/07/2016 and 05/08/2016 begins at 11:00AM in Waxahachie Tx . Live entertainment a great buffet and King Henry VIII, I would say that would be a  new experience. Tickets may be purchased in advance online.
Or what about this one:
The Mothers Day Concert & Butterfly Release at the Texas Discovery Gardens, Fair Park in Dallas TX would be a
nice event to share. A concert with Women’s Chorus of Dallas performing a nature concert with a Latin flair.
This event will run from 2 PM to 4 PM on  May 8th. The gardens and two-story butterfly house makes a very nice walk  for Mom.
Wanting to ride in a horse carriage?
For a little variety of activities The Swiss Avenue Mothers Day Home Tour on 05/07/2016 and 05/08/2016 at Swiss & Munger
in Dallas Tx is loaded with Springtime events. Outside of touring historic homes, an English Garden Tour which will offer air conditioned coach rides, art festival and a antique car show & children’s play area. Live entertainment & Horse Carriage rides. A  Mothers Day Brunch with fresh food and beverages will be on Sunday from 11AM to 2PM.
Maybe art & shopping :
Shopping events can always add  fun to the day and we have so many wonderful areas in DFW for shopping. This is one area that has a bit of a mix. Visit The Dallas Museum of Art at 1717 N. Harwood St. which even has a free section.
The Sculpture Center at 2001 Flora St is a good walk. And catching a trolley to West Village for shopping and lunch and maybe some dessert. What a nice day for Mom.
The Cottonwood Art Festival at Cottonwood Park in Richardson Tx has free admission. Live music and food along with all the various types of art from 100 artists. More exercise fresh air and a little shopping just enjoying the day together.
And a rare opportunity:
The Texas Motorplex Ennis, TX is hosting American Outlaws May 6th and 7th. Tickets may be purchased online. This is the largest guaranteed purse in Outlaw history and has a $75,000 main event, Big Tire Outlaw Invitational, which will be on the 7th. A chance to see the American Outlaws in person. Watch the races and enjoy the food and if you need a place to stay close by camping is offered.
